Vijender: physical fitness important

Olympic medallist and WBO Oriental Super Middle Weight title holder, boxer Vijender Singh graced the Annual Sports Day of Rabindranath World School at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex.

Vijender who was the guest of honour said: “I have never participated in any activity in my school days and it's amazing to see so many students actively taking part in the event.”

He handed out medals and trophies to the students of the school for their outstanding sporting achievements.

He also addressed the parents with the importance of physical activities and diets for young children. “It is very important to let children do what they like to do than forcing them to pursue a career in a particular field. I would have never been a boxer if my parents hadn't supported me. It is also important to take care of our children's diets these days as it will shape the way he will grow up in the future,” he said.

Non-invasive cardiology programme

The Texila American University (TAU) and Yashoda Hospital have tied up to offer non-invasive cardiology programme.

Speaking about the strategic tie-up, founder-president of TAU, Saju Bhaskar said: “We are happy to associate with the hospital to introduce this programme. There is a need to create specialists in non-invasive cardiology. People have become conscious and watchful about their health, especially their heart which is vulnerable diseases owing to sedentary life- style and hectic work hours.

Non- invasive cardiology is in demand across the globe as heart related ailment have increased many- folds.

ICAI signs MoU with IIM-A

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has recently signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

The objective is to establish mutual co-operation between both Institutes for offering and co-hosting open-enrollment and customized training programs exclusively for Chartered Accountants. The MoU will benefit the Chartered Accountants in acquiring number of skills required in today's digitized and fast changing business environment. Participants will be exposed to emerging concepts, technology and business practices in achieving operational excellence.

CA. Naveen ND Gupta, President, ICAI said: “The collaboration will bring a new dimension to the area of accounting and management education. Courses conducted under the MoU will provide opportunity for CAs to enhance management skill sets required for key positions.”

Centum WorkSkills India Limited has announced the inauguration of a skill training centre under Delhi Police’s ‘YUVA’ programme. The training-cum-skill development centre aims to benefit the juvenile delinquents by imparting them with relevant skills and help get jobs under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna.

The initiative provides job-linked skill training to the youth who are school dropouts, juveniles involved in crime, or those from families in a dire state due to the incarceration of the bread earner of the family. The centres provide job-linked training through its sector skill councils which are connected to industry and thereby provide job opportunities.

Sanjay Bahl, CEO and MD, Centum Learning said: “We are delighted to partner with Delhi Police and implement their initiative unique community uplifting initiative — Yuva.”
