NIIT launches Career Quest

Wednesday, 26 September 2018 | PNS | New Delhi

The NIIT Limited, a global leader in skills and talent development, has launched Career Quest in Delhi-NCR to help youth find their dream careers. Career Quest is a platform where youth can explore and learn about newage careers programmes in Digital marketing, Data Analytics, IT, banking and Finance & Accounting and Business Analytics through NIIT career counselling.

The ongoing career counselling will take place across Delhi colleges till September 29, 2018.

The aim is to engage with the youth and counsel them on newage career options through activities and games. NIIT’s expert counsellor will interact with students and help them to find a career best suited for them based on their aspirations and aptitude. Post the completion of the activities the students will be given career guides to help them identify and explore various career options.

A tool — Career Navigator — has been designed to explore an individual’s career aspirations and advise them on the best career path for their future. Any student aspiring to opt for aspirational career programmes at NIIT will have to undergo the navigator process.

Earlier this year, NIIT also launched aspirational career programmes matching the future-ready talent requirements of the industry with ambitions of the generation next. These programmes include Advanced Programmes in Digital Marketing and Branding; Data Analytics and Predictive Modelling;  Full Stack Software Engineering; Banking and Finance and Accounting and Business Analytics.PNS n New Delhi

With an aim to identify the brightest, most talented engineers for multi-skilled, multi-functional roles, the Tata Consultancy Services recently conducted National Qualifier Test (NQT). It is an all-inclusive online campus hiring initiative on its digital platform TCS iON open to graduates and post graduates engineering students of the 2019 batch.

The NQT conducted on September 2-3, 2018, witnessed a massive response from students with over 2.8 lakh registrations across 100 cities in 24 States.

This year, TCS saw a 175 per cent increase in test applications compared to last year. The 90-minute NQT included questions on English language, Quantitative Aptitude, Programming Concepts, and Coding. In order to support the students taking the test, TCS offered a mock test ahead of the exam and deep analytics on their preparedness.

Ajoyendra Mukherjee, EVP & Head, Global Human Resources, TCS, said: “TCS, through its NQT, followed an unprecedented democratic process in IT recruitment – giving all students, regardless of their institute and location, an equal opportunity to prove their passion for technology. At the same time, we worked closely with premium institutions and were successful in selecting the best talent. Besides a career in next-generation technologies, top performers in the NQT also qualify for a differentiated, entry-level hiring process called TCS Digital, with an even more attractive compensation package.
