With the increase in the number of high-rise buildings and malls in India, there are plenty of opportunities in lift technology  or elevator technology. The technicians are trained professionals who can handle all the issues connected with the lift/ elevator the equipment in commercial, residential and industrial buildings. There are many ITI's run by the Government and ITC's run privately that conduct courses in Lift technology. Those who have successfully completed the course can work as lift engineers, supervisors and technicians. Depending on the experience and responsibilities, the remuneration varies between Rs 25,000-Rs 50,000 per month.

The National Institute of Lift Technology is one of the major institutes in the private sector offering lift technology course. Other institutes where one can study are:
