Not willing to allow private schools to get away with arbitrary fees hikes, Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has sought a “compliance report” from education department on the fee “roll back” by the private schools at earliest.
In the backdrop of exorbitant and arbitrary fee hike by private players in education sector, recently, the AAP Government through its Directorate of Education (DoE) has ordered 191 private schools in Delhi to roll back their arbitrary fee hike.
Kejriwal has now taken “stern” view of the matter and asking the Directorate of Education to submit a compliance report as soon as possible.
“The department of education has been asked to get back to the Chief Minister's Office on directions and submit a report with details of the schools and the fee hike roll back,” stated a press release from the CM's office.
In order to verify the fee rollback the Chief Minister has sought a “two way certification” of the rollback of fees in these private schools. For each school the report shall have certification of fee roll back by 10 parents and also one government nominee in the school board.
Among the 191 schools who are verified for the roll-back of “arbitrary” fee hike are some famous private schools like Ahlcon International School Mayur Vihar, Ahlcon Public School Mayur Vihar, Andrews Scot Senior Secondary School IP Extension, ASN Senior Secodnary School Mayur Vihar, Mahavir Senior Model School Sangam Park, AGDAV Centenary Public School Model Town, The Indian School Joseph B. Tito Marg among others.
A Delhi Government official said on the condition of anonymity that those schools who are under the scanner, if fail to comply with the “roll-back” must be ready to bear the heat as stern action would be taken against them.
