Jamia to train 100 aspirants each in SSC, ETE/B.Ed categories

The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has launched non-residential coaching programme for aspirants of Staff Selection Commission-Combined Graduate level (SSC-CGl) and B.Ed./Elementary Teacher Education (ETE) examinations.  A total of 100 aspirants will be trained under each category/course.

A monthly stipend of Rs 2,500 will be given to outstation students whose family income is within the ceiling of Rs 6 lakhs. To promote participation of girl students, a minimum of 30 per cent quota of seats has been fixed for them.

 JMI already have a Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), which provides free coaching to UPSC aspirants belonging to marginalized sections of society including SC, ST, women and minority communities.

“The coaching is spread over a period of four months with four hours per day for SSC-CGl. Thirty seats will be filled on the basis of marks scored in the SSC-CGl Tier-I subjects to minimum of 100 marks. Remaining 70 seats will be filled on the basis of marks scored in the entrance test,” stated press release from JMI.

While, three months coaching with four hours per day would be provided under the B.Ed./ETE programme and all the seats will be filled by entrance test only.

The desiring candidates can apply for these programmes from August 7 to August 27. The application form and other related details are available on JMI's website www.jmi.ac.in .Written test comprising of reasoning, general mental ability, general knowledge and English comprehension will be held on September 2  for entrance to coaching .

However minimum 80 percent of attendance is the eligibility criteria for getting the stipend.

“Absence from coaching for more than 15 days without any valid reason or leaving the coaching midway, the entire expenditure on the candidate will be recovered from the candidate. An Affidavit along with an indemnity Bond, in this regard will need to be submitted by the students at the time of admission,” stated the release.

This year 43 candidates from Residential Coaching Academy of JMI cracked UPSC exam.
