Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a huge rally of farmers and milk producers at the Milk Capital of India–Anand which is also global headquarters ninth largest dairy organisation (Amul) in the world on Sunday.

Official sources in the Gujarat Administrative Department (GAD) said that the Prime Minister would initiate whirlwind visit to his home-State by inaugurating Rs 200 crore chocolate plant owned by Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (GCMMF) popularly known as Amul Federation at Mogar village situated on the outskirts of central Gujarat town Anand.

After inaugurating the mammoth plant having capacity to make 1000 tonnes of chocolate per month, PM Modi would address a massive rally at Anand. According to Ramsinh Parmar, chairman of GCMMF, at least one lakh farmers would attend the rally to be addressed by the Prime Minister.

It is worth mentioning that immediate past president of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Bharatsinh Solanki and current Gujarat Congress chief Amit Chavada, belong to Anand district. In this context Modi’s visit to Anand would have political significance too as more than 3.6 million farmers are connected with GCMMF.

From ‘Milk Capital’, Modi will fly to bordering Kutch district where he would dedicate 67-km-long natural gas pipeline between Mundra Port and Anjar. The Rs 375 crore pipeline project has been completed by Gujarat government owned Gujarat State Petronet Limited (GSPL).

He will also perform ground-breaking ceremony of the 4-laning work of industrial corridor connecting Varasana, Bhimasar, Anjar with the district headquarters of Kutch, Bhuj.

The Prime Minister is also schedule to visit commercial capital of Saurashtra region – Rajkot in the evening where he would inaugurate Rs 26 crore museum project based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. The 164 year old heritage building of the museum was once a school (Alfred High School), where Mahatma did schooling.

The state-of-the art museum developed by Rajkot Municipal Corporation is equipped with a mini theatre, multiple screens, augmented reality gallery, video arc wall and prayer hall to name a few. Modi will also address a gathering at Rajkot.
