Vibrant Gujarat 2019 delegation in London

In the second phase of the international roadshows for the promotion of Vibrant Gujarat 2019, the Gujarat delegation led by MK Das (IAS), Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Principal Secretary of Industries visited London.

Das, accompanied by industry leaders and members of trade associations, held meetings with the business community in London and garnered strong support for the Gujarat Growth Story. In a bid to showcase the socio-economic growth, business-friendly environment, increasing opportunities and possibilities of collaboration with Gujarat, the delegation made a presentation in front of a packed house in London.

Presenting an overview, he mentioned about the rapid economic growth in Gujarat, higher than that of the country. Presenting a promising picture of Gujarat’s potential growth in future, he invited the Indian-origin business leaders from U.K. for collaboration.

“Gujarat is growing a very fast pace, and we do not wish to stop here. We want your inputs and grow it further,” said Das adding that Indian-origin business leaders in U.K. can help in achieving Prime Minister’s vision of a New India and Gujarat.  The delegation leader also explained the value proposition that Vibrant Gujarat offers with the upcoming summit looking at trade and commerce as a leading theme. Das invited the business community to present their business case at Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019 to be held in January next year.

During the visit Das also called upon leading U.K. industrialist LN Mittal, Chairman and CEO of Arcelor Mittal Group. He had a one-to-one discussion where he appraised Mittal of major projects such as Dholera & DMIC and about the growth potential of Gujarat, and invited him to be a part of Vibrant Gujarat 2019.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed by the delegation with Pontaq UK–India Innovation Fund to promote technology transfer for creating job opportunities in sectors like financial technology, Smart Cities and emerging technologies.
