Vibrant Gujarat roadshow to be held in Delhi today

Friday, 16 November 2018 | Nayan Dave | GANDHINAGAR

In the run-up to the ninth edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) to be held in January 2019, the Gujarat Government is hosting a roadshow in New Delhi on Friday.

The roadshow at the national Capital for the Gujarat Government’s flagship biennial event for attracting investments would be attended by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and other senior officials. The roadshow on Friday would be first out of six to be held at Delhi. During the event, the Rupani and others would meet leaders of trade and industries in the Capital and showcase investment opportunities in Gujarat.

In order to promote the event senior-level delegations have already visited across the globe and organised 24 road-shows in different countries. The Summit will be held from Jan 18-20 next year. Gujarat Government will hold such road shows in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad.

During the road shows, the State Government would showcase Dholera Special Investment Region known as Dholera SIR – a Greenfield city being developed in the proximity of Ahmedabad with all state-of-the-art amenities to attract big ticket investments. Unlike previous summits where the State Government emphasised on manufacturing sector, this time focus is on trade and service sectors. VGGS was conceptualised by former Chief Minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. First VGGS was organised in 2003.

Since then every two years the event is being organised and continuously becoming bigger and bigger with larger participations from numbers of countries. The 8th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, held in January 2017, witnessed participation from more than 25,000 delegates from over 100 countries, including 4 heads of states, Nobel laureates, industry leaders and thought leaders.
