Hailing from Jabalpur, young Bollywood playback singer Sourabh Joshi says, I did not come for name and fame in this industry. He has created a niche for himself in the music industry of Hindi Cinema. The energetic and talented engineering student Sourabh never wanted to be in music industry. But it is said that what is destines to be yours comes to you automatically and so is the story of Sourabh Joshi.

While interacting with The Pioneer, Sourabh shared his extravagant journey in B’town music industry. “My grandfather Ratan Joshi was a renowned vocalist. But, I never aimed to be a music person or a singer for that matter. I pursued my engineering and after that I grabbed a really god job with Reliance in Mumbai.”

Elaborating further, he said, “At my company I used to sing at events and so my friends suggested that I should go for playback singing as my voice is of that kind. As I went with my friends’ advice, I started to take it seriously and then the day came when I performed with Mohit Chauhan.” After performing with Mohit, Sourabh started performing with Rekha Bharadwaj in live concerts. Soon, Sourabh got his Bollywood debut in movie Haider. Talking about it, he said, “I met the music composers of Haider as they had heard me at live concert at Rekha Bharadwaj. Then I was called for recording. Seriously, I never thought that I will get this opportunity. I got a call from Vishal after few days of recording and then the song was out.”

Talking about working with Rekha Bharadwaj, Sourabh said, “It is such a blessing for me.” Sourabh said that his various projects are in the pipeline. He also worked on a cover song on Gandhi Jayanti. While signing off, he said, “If only you have passion to work in this industry then try and work hard to achieve it.”
