We are adopting western culture in many ways, forgetting our core values and cultures, says a renowned Bhajan singer Mukesh Tiwari.
Mukesh Tiwari gave a spontaneous performance at Baithak – The Art House here on Thursday. He performed in the event ‘Aradhana – Bhajan Sandhya’ organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Bhopal chapter.
The devotional singer while sharing his views about contemporary trends in celebrating religious festivals said, “The Bollywood tracks should never be mixed with devotional music. Devotional music has depth, unlike the filmy music.” He further said, “Youngsters should understand the difference between the two and follow the Indian traditions.”
Mukesh Tiwari is known devotional singer of the city. He is the graded artist of Akshwani Bhopal. He was initially trained by Pramod Bhatt and then received training from Kiran Deshpande, Pandit Sajjanlal Bhatt. He has also been trained by Anup Jalota in Mumbai. Performing with Anup Jatola, Mukesh received a fine experience of devotional music.
Mukesh has also received various awards for his plnedid perofrmnaces at national and international platforms. Here on Thursday, Mukesh perfofrmed before the Bhopalites leaving the audience msemerised.
Mukesh began with Ganesh Vandana. He was accompanied by Pawan Satavani in vocal. Mukesh then performed ‘Hey Maa Tumahre Charnon me main’, ‘Ananadmayi Chetanmayi’, ‘Ambe Kamal Charan Hain Tere’, ‘Mere Mann Ke Ant’ and many more. Mukesh performed around eight devotional songs. He wrapped up his performance with bhajan ‘Mera Jeewan Teri Sharan’. Mukesh was accompanied by Manohar Rao on Keyboard, Rajiv Rao on Tabla and Abhishek Rao on Octapad. Manoj Kumar, Regional Director of ICCR was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the audience Kumar highlighted the importance of Indian culture.
