In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old boy died after he met an accident while driving his father's motorcycle around 7:30 am in Shadhara district's Krishna Nagar on Sunday, police said. Deputy Commissioner of Police Meghna Yadav said that a call regarding the incident was received by Krishna Nagar police at around 7:30 am.
According to police, when they reached the spot, the victim identified as Divya Sharma, an eighth standard student, was hurt in the accident. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
"The family was asleep when Divya took his father Amit Sharma's Bajaj Splendor motorcycle out for a ride," said the DCP, adding that they are still looking for the vehicle. "There is no information but prima facie, it appears that he was probably hit by another vehicle," said the DCP.
"We are checking CCTV footages of the area to ascertain the exact the reason behind the incident," said a senior official, adding that a probe is on to get to the depth of the story and it is only after which action will be taken.
