A 19-year-old married woman of Jhansi was gang-raped by five persons at PC Nagar in the past two weeks. The Habibganj police have nabbed the five accused involved in captivating and sexually assaulting the victim.

A complaint was lodged on Sunday after she reported the incident. Police said that the victim had come to her relative’s house at PC Nagar BDA EWS building where she was held captive by the main accused who lives in the same building.

In her complaint the victim stated that she was at the terrace of the building when the main accused Lokesh came and started to talk with her later she lost conscious and when she regained conscious she found herself inside a room.

Later the five accused used to assault her for the next 15 days and she only managed to escape after the neighbours informed the police.

She reported the incident to her family and later case was reported with the Habibganj police.

The five accused were identified as Manish, Lokesh, Vishal, Golu and Chetan.

Victim has alleged that the five accused used to come at any point of time of the day and would sexually assault her and before leaving the room they would lock her inside the room. She told the police that the room was owned by Vishal who was one of the accused.

The victim came to her maternal grandmother after having a dispute with her husband few days after the marriage.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 366, 344, 376 (2) (n), 506 and 34 of the IPC and started further investigation.
