The Ghaziabad Police have arrested two criminals in an encounter on Sunday midnight. Police said the culprits identified as Suraj and Ranvir tried to flee the spot during the vehicles checking conducted jointly by crime branch and Sihani Gate police.
The suspects opened fire at the police team after a team followed them. In retaliation, police also opened fire in which both sustained of bullet injuries, police said. A police constable also sustained bullet injuries in cross firing.
He was admitted in nearby Kailash hospital and his condition is said to be stable. SP City Shlok Kumar said both were taken to the MMG Hospital and stable now.
During screening it was found that they were involved in over dozen criminal cases of dacoity, loot and murder in different district of Sonipat, Baghpat and Ghaziabad.
