The national Capital has witnessed two incidencts of gangrape: One of a 16-year-old schoolgirl and another of Multinational Company (MNC) employee, police said on Monday.

In first incident, the girl was allegedly gangraped by her landlord’s son and his friends and in other case the MNC staffer was raped by her colleagues.  The two incidents have raised the issue of safety and security of women in the city.

The Class X student at a Government school was raped by four men, including son of her landlord, who lured her with an offer to buy her a pizza. The incident occurred on Friday at Kalyanpuri. 

“They allegedly forced themselves on her and threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed about the incident to anyone,” said the DCP.

“When the girl’s mother returned from work, the victim narrated her ordeal to her mother, who took her to the police station following which a case was registered under the relevant sections of POCSO (Prevention of Children from Sexual offences) and Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused were arrested on the same day,” the DCP added.

“The girl and the landlord’s son were friends for quite a longtime. The landlord’s son is aged 28 and is married. One of the accused is 18-year-old, who does the job of washing cars in the locality. Two of the other accused are 28 and 40 years old,” said the DCP.

In another incident, a woman employed with an MNC in west Delhi’s Dwarka was allegedly gangraped by two of her colleagues on Saturday night.

According to a senior police official, the accused identified as Birju (25), and his associate Vinod Kumar (31) offered her a lift after office hours on Saturday evening from Dwarka. “During the journey, the accused served her cold drink lashed with sedatives and she became unconscious. The victim was taken to a flat in an unconscious state where they took turns to rape her. After committing the crime, the accused dropped the victim near Vasant Kunj area,” said a senior police official.

“The victim somehow managed to reach her home and reveals her ordeal with family members. On Sunday, victim reached the Vasant Kunj police station and gave written complaint against the accused,” said the senior police official.

“We have conducted medical examination of the victim which confirms rape. The accused have been arrested from their houses,” the senior official added.
