2 vehicle-lifters held, 5 vehicles recovered

Shahjehanabad police nabbed two vehicle-lifters and recovered five stolen vehicles from their possession on Monday. Miscreants targeted different areas of the city and would steal motorbike. According to the police, acting on a tip off a two men were detained during vehicle checking and when they were quizzed regarding the motorbike they were not able to provide the details and document of the motorbike.

Later, they confessed that the motorbike was stolen from Old City area and in the further investigation the accused confessed that they had stolen four more motorbikes.

The nabbed miscreant was identified as Asshu alias Aslam Khan (25) and Sameeruddin alias Kasif (27).

The registration number of the motorbike recovered from the accused was not clear and when the chassis number and engine number checked the correct details were found by the police. The details of the owner and in which police station the complaint of the stolen motorbike has been registered would be investigated. Police have recovered two scooters and two motorbikes apart from motorbike which was recovered from their possession when the two were nabbed in the night on Monday.

The miscreants have been booked for vehicle lifting by different police stations in the past.

The police have registered a case under section 379 of the IPC and started further investigation.

During the investigation the nabbed accused confessed two persons who have helped in the disposal of the motorbikes stolen in the past. Based on the details search for the two has been started.
