Two youths drowned in Bhimkhund near Rehati village in the morning on Sunday; deceased youths have gone to visit Salkanpur temple and drowned while taking bath on their way.
According to the police, two youths drowned while taking bath who were on their way to Salkanpur temple along with their two friends.
Police were informed and divers were pressed into service and two bodies were fished out. The deceased were identified as Shankar Sahu alias Pintu (19) and Akash(18) of Karond.
In the initial investigation, it was found that the deceased along with their two friends Sonu Prajapati and Ankit Panthi had gone to Salkanpur temple.
The four left at around 2.30 in the night and in the morning around 8 they decided to take bath at Rehati and while they were taking bath two of them drowned.
Ankit who escaped told the police that Shankar was aware of swimming and went inside water where it was deep while the three were near the bank and imitating Shankar, Akash went inside the water and he started to drown and to save Akash, Shankar went ahead which proved fatal for the two and when they were drowning Ankit and Sonu tried to save them but failed and rushed to get help but before locals could help them the two drowned.
The bodies were sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered.
Police said that the two friends who escaped would be questioned.
