27-year-old held for slaughtering 2 cows

The Delhi Police has arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly slaughtering two cows in a house at Nand Nagri in National Capital. The accused along with his brother had brought four cows from Uttar Pradesh a day before, said Police.

“The accused is identified as Ubed, a resident of Nand Nagri. We had received a Police Control Room (PCR) call on Sunday morning regarding the slaughtering of the cow in a house in Nand Nagri area following which a team rushed to the spot. Ubed was apprehended from the spot whereas seeing the police his brother fled from the spot,” said a senior police official.

“During our initial investigation it was revealed that Ubed along with his brother had brought four cows from Uttar Pradesh and had slaughtered two of them. A neighbor informed police regarding the slaughtering. We have recovered beef and weapon used to slaughter. Two other cows were handed over to local municipal authorities,” said the senior police official.

“We have registered a case. Ubed brother is still absconding and police team is making efforts to nab him. Further investigation is going on,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of north east district Atul Kumar.
