Police on Sunday arrested four Maoists including three woman cadres near Jantri village in the cutoff Chitrakonda region in the district. Among the arrestees, one is a minor. Police seized two boxes containing nails, glass pieces, urea fertiliser, two electronic detonators, three packets of gelatin stick paste used as high explosives and some electric wires from their possession.
The police refused to divulge any details about them as they are trying to conduct an identification parade to ascertain whether they were involved in other cases.
Sources said a joint operation was launched by SOG of Odisha police and Greyhounds of Andhra Police in Jantri gram panchayat in the district. The security personnel spotted the four accused running suspiciously towards the nearby forest and nabbed them.
