More than 30 per cent of sanctioned teaching posts and more than 50 per cent of sanctioned non-teaching posts posts are lying vacant in the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) and its affiliated institutes.
It was revealed from the information furnished in the State Assembly by Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Pradeep Moharathy in response to a question of BJP MLA Dilip Ray on Tuesday.
According to the Minister, 20 of 50 Professor posts, 35 of 95 Associate Professor posts, 67 of 230 Assistant Professor posts, 88 of 226 Researcher posts and 336 of 608 non-teaching posts are now lying vacant. Besides, proposed 78 non-teaching posts are now vacant in these institutes.
The Minister informed that steps have been taken for filling up proposed 78 non-teaching posts soon and the Government will take steps to fill up Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Researcher posts after lifting of UGC hurdles.
