45-yr-old man attacked with sharp edged weapon, dies

A 45-year-old man died who was attacked with sharp edged weapon by two persons at Karond under Nishatpura police station in the wee hours on Monday; deceased was attacked on Sunday.

Police said that the deceased Ashok Kumar Singh runs a grocery shop at Gas Rahat Colony was attacked by Sabir and his son Faheem with sharp edged weapon.

In the initial investigation it was found that on Sunday afternoon at around 11am when Ashok was at his shop his daughter came and complaint about her Shabir who has shouted at her for stopping her playing near his house after which Ashok went to talk with the accuse who started to abuse and engaged in fight which turned violent after Shabir and his son Faeem attacked the deceased with a knife in his stomach.

Ashok was taken to a private hospital where his condition was critical and after few hours of treatment he died in the wee hours on Monday while the accused remained absconding.

Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation.

The police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and started further investigation.

After the incident on Monday few Bajrang Dal activists reached Nishatpura police and alleged that cops are negligent in the case and trying to protect both the accused father-son as before shopkeeper’s death, both of them had approached Nishatpura police station as they wanted to lodge a counter FIR.

The details of the absconding accused would be searched to identify the whereabouts. The crime record of the accused would also be searched.
