A 48-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain and other valuables worth Rs 40,000 and documents at Ankit Parisar colony under Kolar police station area late in the evening on Tuesday.
According to the police, the victim Nalini Shinde was robbed while she was on her way back to home with her daughter after buying vegetables. A complaint was lodged by the victim with the police and in her complaint she stated that when she reached near her colony she was attacked by a miscreant who robbed her gold chain.
The incident took place at around 7.30 pm. The victim and her daughter Apeksha when reached Ankit Parisar a miscreant attacked from behind and snatched gold chain she was wearing. Initially the victim resisted but the accused overpowered her and pushed her to snatch the gold chain, victim raised alarm but before they could be helped miscreant escaped the spot with the gold chain. Victim lodged a complaint with Kolar police and based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.The footages of CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas would be searched in the further investigation. It is possible that the miscreants have followed the victim from the vegetable market where the two visited and chose to attack the victim at the spot where it was easier to escape with the robbed valuables. The victim is resident of Rajharsh Colony and is a house wife, said police.
