Taking action against Public Works Department (PWD), South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) issued five challans for slippage of malba/debris on roads. A senior SDMC official said that the action was taken by the officials of “Department of Environment Maintenance Services” (DEMS)for not complying with the direction issued by the civic body. He said that officials of the South Zone’s DEMS department noticed violations at five different places on different roads and took action.
The official further said that “ It is a violation of section 15 of National Green Tribunal Act,”He further said that Malba/Debri of PWD, filled in number of trucks was found to be slipped over at many places under Dakshinpuri areas.
“In each case, Rs 50000 fine has to be deposited by them within three days of issuing challan. Failing which they will have to appear in the court of Divisional Magistrate at Saket on December 20, he said.
