A 55-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain at Indra Vihar under Koh-e-Fiza police station area on Friday; accused have been spotted in a CCTV grab and based on the photographs police have started investigation.
According to the police, the victim Sana Waswani was on near her house late in the afternoon when she was attacked by two bike borne miscreants and snatched the gold chain she was wearing.
A complaint was lodged with the police by the victim. In the complaint the victim claimed that the two bike borne miscreants appeared and attacked her and escaped with the gold chain she was wearing. She raised alarm but before she could be helped the miscreants managed to escape the spot. The victim was not able to notice the registration number of the bike as the miscreants escaped the spot at a fast very speed.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The victim spotted the two coming but was not aware and alert that they could attack and should save herself which cost her gold chain.
The victim escaped without injuries. Police said that the victim has claimed that the robbed gold chain was worth Rs 70000.
During the further investigation police would investigate CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas which would help in the nabbing the accused. The accused have been spotted in a CCTV footage in which they are found over a motorbike escaping the spot.
