Aam Aadmi Party on Monday demanded resignation of Punjab Cabinet Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot in Nabha nagar council embezzlement case while urging the State Government to hand over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigations.
Mincing no words, AAP’s Nabha Vidhan Sabha president Gurdev Singh (Dev Mann) said that the embezzlement was committed by the office bearers and officers with the involvement of Dharamsot. “Dharamsot is patronizing corruption in the area,” he alleged.
Appreciating the action taken by the Local Government Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu to suspend Nabha nagar council president Rajnish Kumar Shanty, EO Sukhdeep Singh Kamboj and clerk Harjinder Singh, Mann said that he was hopeful that Sidhu will take further action against other people involved in the case.
Mann said that the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh claims of zero tolerance to corruption in the State, “but his own Ministers are indulging in embezzlement of funds”.
He demanded that Capt Amarinder must immediately remove Dharamsot from his Cabinet and hand over the inquiry to the CBI for further investigation, failing which, the AAP will gherao Dharamsot.
