A convention of the All India Students’ Federation (AISF), Odisha State council was held here on Sunday under leadership of Sanghamitra Jena, Jitendra Dasm and Jagdish Durga.
Federation State convenor Jagannath Patra presented the annual report of two years and said that on the birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh, i..e, on September 28, the federation would a hold civil disobedient movement in different parts of the State demanding free education and employment.
During the movement, the federation would urge the students of the State to make the Students’ Union elections, which are going to be held in October, free from communal violence and corruption.
On the occasion, 23 members for the federation State council and seven representatives were elected.
Sanghamitra Jena was elected as president, Saifulla Khan and Sumant Nahak were elected as VPs, Jagannath Patra as secretary, Jhili Bag and Aparna Routray as joint secretaries and Arun Sardar as treasurer.
Among others, All India Youth Federation State president Sadanand Sahu, AISF former State president Dr Prasant Mishra, N Narayan Reddy, former secretary Jayant Das, Abhijeet Sahu, Subash Mahapatra and former national president Ramkrusha Panda were present.
