All India GV Mavalankar Shooting Championship to begin from today

The 28th All India GV Mavalankar Shooting Championship will begin in city from Sunday. The championship will be held in State Shooting Academy.

Shooters from all over the country will showcase their sports skills before the Bhopalites. The championship will begin on September 23 i.e. Sunday at 10.30 am. On the first day of the championship, there will be official’s practice.

In this week long tournament, 147 players in the TV event, 60 players in the double tap event and 23 players including 29 players in skeet event will perform best for their sports skills to win the gold medal.

In the competition, Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy's player, Ankit Jadoon will perform in talent show and in the Rituraj and Pawan Ahirwar will perform in the championship. It is noteworthy that the players who win the medals will be selected for the national championship.

Besides, it is also noteworthy that the All India Mavalankar shooting championship, is an opportunity to qualify for the national only once.

Director Sports and Youth Welfare S.L. Thoussen visited the State Shooting Academy on Saturday to review the preparations of 28th All India GV Mavalankar Shooting Championship.

He gave necessary directions to the officials concerned. He reviewed the other arrangements for the championship including the accommodation, food, transport arrangements for the player. He also reviewed arrangements like parking, electricity, drinking water.

Notably, with an initiative taken by State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia modern and international sports facilities are being provided to players of different academies. Shooting Academy in this series has also been developed with international level sports facilities, where players from all over the country will have an opportunity to show talent in the All India Mavalankar Shooting Championship.

In the championship, 236 players from the women and men's section of the States of Delhi, Gujarat, Punjab, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Hyderabad, West Bengal, Assam, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttarakhand will participate.
