Anganwadi workers’ honorarium hiked by 25%

In what is being touted as a new year gift to the Anganwadi workers, the state government has increased the honourarium given to them by about 25 per cent. The government order in this regard was issued on Thursday. According to official sources, this decision will benefit more than 35,000 Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi assistants and mini Anganwadi workers in the state. Significantly, the highest honorarium in the country is given to Anganwadi workers in Uttarakhand.

According to the government order issued on Thursday,  now Anganwadi workers will get Rs 7500, Anganwadi assistants will get  Rs 3750 and mini Anganwadi workers will get Rs 4750 per month. The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has been pursuing the need for increase in honorarium of Anganwadi workers with the Centre. The government order on Thursday was issued on the instructions of the chief minister to give benefits to the Anganwadi workers of the honourarium revised by the Center.
