The Annual Sports Day-2018 of Campion School held on Friday at the playground of Campion School, Arera Colony. Around 1500 students from the Secondary school participated in the event.
The principal introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. Aalok Singh, Chief Guest is Chairman of Mitasha Group of Industries. He is also an Ex-Campionite or Alumni from 1983 batch. The ceremonial lamp was lit by the Chief Guest, Principal Fr Athnas Lakra SJ, along with Superior and Manager Fr Christdhari Kujur SJ, Vice Principal Fr Amritlal Toppo SJ, Fr Ashok and Headmistress.
The Principal emphasised on the importance of sports in a child's life. He said Sports develops all round development of the body, mind and soul. He wished all the students good luck. The chief guest, along with the other dignitaries received the salute during the parade and impressive March Past of the School students and then the oath ceremony was held. He declares the Sports meet Open.
The inaugural programme commenced with the school choir singing the prayer song invoking God’s blessing and welcome dance by the girls students of the school in colourful attire, followed by the March past by the students. Students entered into the spirit of the occasion with an impressive march past presented by the four houses ie, Nehru House, Ashoka House, Tagore House and Gandhi House of the School.
Champion of Champion trophy is given to Master “Yuvraj Patel” in SErnior Boys Category and Khshi and Nandini in Girls category. Champion House trophy is given to “Gandhi House” & Runner House trophy is give to “Tagore House” on the day of Annual Sports Meet. The last event, an AHA! Sports Display, showcased the skills and exercises practiced by our young sports enthusiasts every day.
The Chief Guest during his address stated that opportunity should be given to the trainers to pick athletes give proper training and produce good athletes in society. Sports is an important extracurricular activity, it releases mental tension, improves personality and develops public relationship. Everyday children should spare time for sports.
