Another dengue patient dies in SCB

With the death of one more dengue patient at the SCB Medical College Hospital here on Sunday, the vector-borne disease has claimed five patients so far during the past six months.

Hospital sources said that one Soumya Ranjan Naik (18) of Jagatsingpur district had been admitted at the hospital on Thursday last. “As the patient was critical, he was undergoing treatment with special care in the ICU. But he died early on Sunday morning,” the sources said.

The sources further disclosed that currently 92 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in the special dengue ward of the hospital. 

And 17 others, whose conditions are stated to be critical, are also undergoing treatment in the ICU, the sources added.
