Army Adventure Challenge Cup starts

The Army Adventure Challenge Cup 2018 -organised under the aegis of Central Command and Army Adventure Nodal Centre from November 12 to 17   - has been inaugurated by Lt Gen Harish Thukral, General Officer Commanding, Uttar Bharat, at Chilla Canal area on Monday.

Speaking to The Pioneer, Major Benjoy PS said, “The competition is being organised with a view to promoting the spirit of adventure in the defence and the paramilitary forces. Eleven teams representing all the Army Commands, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Coast Guard, BSF and ITBP would be vying for the coveted trophy in the prestigious biennial competition.”

The Triathlon comprises three disciplines of mountain cycling, hill running and white water rafting, set in Rishikesh over an excruciating 42 kilometres, pushing teams to their limits of endurance and determination, the Army officers informed.

The prize distribution among the winners would be held at Sarvatra Auditorium, Raiwala military station on November 17.
