Attitude of maintaining status quo needs to be changed, says new CM

Chief Minister Kamal Nath in his first address to the Senior Administrative Officers said that the attitude of maintaining status quo is needed to be changed. The perspective of taking everything for granted will not work now. Transformation has to be brought in the system with new approach and vision.

While handing over the Congress Party’s manifesto to the Chief Secretary, he said that this is a document of people’s expectation. This has been prepared by all the categories of the society. Nath further mentioned that we have to explore new resources and to adopt ‘out of the box’ thinking. We will have to stop unnecessary expenditure. We will have to spend people’s money in meaningful manner as we all are accountable for it. The Chief Minister expected that schemes should be made based on the manifesto.

The Chief Minister expected from the officers that they will bring changes in them. Must see and judge things with new perspective. He said that there is a difference between reforms and transformation and achievement and fulfillment. Fulfillment is more important. He said that the target of the government and officers is one and same.

Kamal Nath reached Mantralaya after taking the oath and inaugurated New Annexe building. He addressed all the senior officers in his introductory meeting. While apologizing for delay, he said that no one will have to wait from now on.

Expressing gratitude towards the voters, Kamal Nath said that they have elected new government with big expectations. People have shown faith in the system. He mentioned that change is must in the system to fulfill people’s expectation. Transformation has to be brought with new perspective, approach, new vision and creativity. System is moving with the same approach since last many years, whereas the world is changing, old arrangements which are not correct, its continuation is not consistent with the time.

Besides, Nath said that we have to pay attention to youth. We will have to understand demands of new generation as they will build and protect the state. The chasm between employment and unemployment is also a challenge. He urged officers to bring change in their though process in this connection. Nath further stated that we will have to mull how to bring investment in the state. He mentioned that investment does not come only because of policies and demand. We will have to attract investment, he added.
