Haryana Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Karan Dev Kamboj on Tuesday said so far, 95,773 metric tonnes of bajra and 32.42 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been procured in the State.
Kamboj said out of total arrival of bajra in mandis, 94,139 metric tonnes have been procured by Government agencies and 1,634 metric tonnes by traders. Last year, 18,073 metric tonnes bajra was procured.
So far, 30.96 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured and 1.45 lakh metric tonnes by traders.
Last year, common paddy was procured at Rs 1,550 and Rs 1,590 for grade A. This year, the price of paddy has been increased to Rs 1,750 and Rs 1,770 respectively. Similarly, last year, the price of bajra was procured at Rs 1,425, which has been increased this year to Rs 1,950 per quintal, he added.
Earlier, presiding over a review meeting with senior officers of Environment, Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, Industries and Commerce and New and Renewable Energy Departments, here, the Minister said that the State Government is considering the proposal of AG Dotter, a private company to clean the dirty water flowing in the drain in Dhanaura Escape. For this, ultra cold plasma gasification technique would be used for generating energy from waste, he said.
Kamboj said that the Public Health Engineering Department has been directed to make land available for the purpose. Under the proposal, the AG Dotter company will set up a sewerage treatment–cum-power-plant in Yamunanagar or near Dhanaura Escape to purify the dirty waterwhich would be classified into three parts.
