Chief Minister Raman Singh on Tuesday said that Beltara in Bilha Development Block of Bilaspur district will be accorded the status of a Tehsil.
He was addressing a massive public meeting here as part of the ongoing ‘Atal Vikas Yatra’ in Beltara.
Singh said that Bilaspur district is ahead of all districts in the number of LPG connections provided under Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana with 1.80 lakh LPG connections provided.
The Chief Minister also announced to open a Police Post in Beltara village.
Singh said that State Government has made schemes for each section of society.
“Low-cost rice and smart phones for poor people, bicycles for labourers, Mahtari Express for pregnant women have been made available”, the Chief Minister said.
Farmers are being provided electricity supply at flat rate. This time, farmers will be paid bonus along with the support price for paddy procurement. Chhattisgarh has the best system of paddy procurement in the entire country, he said.
The Central Government has initiated distribution of Neem coated urea, which will put an end to supply of fake urea in the market, the Chief Minister said.
Singh said that skill development centres will be opened in all 27 districts of the State, where youth are not only being provided skill development training but are also being given placement assistance.
To provide better medical facilities to poor people, Central Government has started Ayushman Bharat Scheme, under which beneficiaries will be able to avail medical treatment of up to Rs 5 Lakh.
Later Singh inaugurated development works worth Rs 19.77 crore in the region besides inaugurating some of the projects.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister distributed various materials and offered government financial assistance to 112 beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister did bhoomi pujan for Auditorium to be constructed at the premises of Government Engineering College, Bilaspur at a cost of Rs 8.25 crore, the Building for Rural Road Network Management, Nal Jal scheme for Gatauri village panchayat at a cost of Rs 60 lakhs and construction of a veterinary Feed Godown to be constructed at a cost of Rs 20 lakhs at Bema Nagaui village.
The works inaugurated by the Chief Minister included broadening of Bahatrai-Bijaur-Urtum road at a cost of Rs 5.52 crore, and 50 seater Girl Hostel Building at Government Polytechnic Bilaspur at a cost of Rs 1.93 crore.
