On Monday, an all-party meeting was convened by the Rourkela Bar Association (RBA) to take a decision on their agitation for High Court Bench at Rourkela and declaration of Rourkela as a revenue district. Among others, representatives of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had also attended it.
Though the representatives of other parties including BJP and BJD agreed with the proposal to go for a Rourkela Bandh on November 27 but the State secretary of AAP Binay Tiwari disapproved of it. According to Tiwari if the State Government led by BJD and Central Government led by BJP give a positive signal, then both the demands would be fulfilled easily.
So instead of going for a Rourkela bandh, the local leaders of both the parties should take up the matter with their party bosses to consider the genuine demands of Rourkela immediately.
