BJP candidates are not spent force: Kaushik

Monday, 22 October 2018 | Staff Reporter | Raipur

The Bharatiya Janata Party has termed the statement of Janata Congress Chhattisgarh supremo Ajit Jogi given under frustration. BJP has announced party candidates for the upcoming State General Election 2018 on Sunday night.

BJP Chhattisgarh State president Dharamlal Kaushik said BJP party based on the specified criteria and those fulfilling it have been selected and having complete possibility for registering win. “We are working on the 65 plus and will achieve it and form the government fourth time,” he said.

Jogi had termed the BJP candidates as spent force and party playing defensive game. On which BJP state president adviced him to maintain his own house in order. Earlier, he had declared to fight election against Chief Minister from Rajnandgaon and now he has taken back his own statement, showing political immaturity.

Kaushik added Jogi is in dilemma as his son would be in election fray under JCC (J) banner while his wife is waiting for the Congress party ticket and daughter-in-law has been made candidate of Bahujan Samaj Party.

Kaushik said Jogi himself is now playing the defensive game in politics by showing his actual political character by abandoning the election fray.

After long processes of discussion and analysis, the candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party have been put in election fray, they have their own political influence in their areas. Having clean image would help them to win the polls.

Kaushik said Jogi might fear that with BJP having such strong cadre based organisation, the relevance of JCC-BSP might be lost. BJP has a combination of experience and young energetic team while women and farmers have been given preference. In the 77 announced candidates, 14 are women, one former IAS, four doctors, 25 youth (less than 40 years) and 53 farmers. There is no need to raise fingers on the balanced and well defined candidates, said Kaushik.
