Jaiveer Shergill, Congress national spokesperson, alleged on Friday that a loss of Rs 400 cr incurred on Chhattisgarh Government’s exchequer as the BJP Government adopted dilly- dallying attitude in starting the Madwa power project which was sanctioned by the previous Congress-led UPA Government for state’s Janjgir-Champa district.

“The delay in the project had put a debt of Rs 400 crore which was a sheer loss of revenue to the State Government,’’ he charged at a press conference here at party office Rajiv Bhawan.

Shergill also hit out at Raman Singh Government for higher power tariff in State even though the state is categorised as a power surplus State.

Chhattisgarh is selling power to Telangana at Rs 4 per unit but is levying the power charges in state at the rate of Rs 5 per unit, he remarked.
