The Bharatiya Janata Party State Election Committee will hold its meeting today (October 20) in the party State office here. The party candidates for mayoral and other posts in the urban local body elections will be finalised in this meeting.
The party’s state general secretary and election committee member Naresh Bansal informed that regarding the urban local body elections, the meeting of the state election committee was earlier slated to be held on Thursday evening but was suspended following the demise of former chief minister Narayan Dutt Tiwari. Now this meeting will be held on Saturday afternoon.
The meeting will be presided over by the BJP State president Ajay Bhatt.
It will be attended by the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, BJP State party in charge Shyam Jaju and other members. MPs and former CMs Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, former CM Vijay Bahuguna, party’s national secretary Tirath Singh Rawat, general secretary (organisation) Sanjay Kumar, Union minister of State, Ajay Tamta, MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, cabinet ministers Prakash Pant, Madan Kaushik, Yashpal Arya, minister of state Dhan Singh Rawat, BJP state vice president Jyoti Gairola and BJP State media in charge Devendra Bhasin among others will also be attending the meeting of the State Election Committee on.
