BJYM’s ‘Valour Day’ celebration today

Thursday, 06 December 2018 | PNS | Ranchi

Notwithstanding communal violence witnessed across the country in the name of cow vigilante and even police officers falling prey to mob violence, the Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha, youth wing of the ruling BJP has announced to celebrate the 26th anniversary of Babri Mosque demolition as ‘Shaurya Diwas’ (Valour Day) across Jharkhand on Thursday.

The cadres of the BJYM will ensure that the day is celebrated by lighting ‘Diya’ (earthen lights) at each Hindu house in every division to mark the “valour of the people, who demolished the ancient mosque”. “We are celebrating this day as ‘Shaurya Diwas’ with the punchline ‘Ek Diya Ram ke Naam’.  This is a division level programme and today we will distribute 1000 diyas in each colony of the divisions across the State to be used on Thursday,” said BJYM,

State media incharge, Sanjay Poddar. “Tomorrow, the BJYM workers will visit houses in each division and urge the people to light at least one Diya in the name of Lord Rama.

On Thursday evening 108 Diyas will be lit in all prominent temples in districts across the State. We will also hold Aarti and perform worship at the temples,” said Poddar adding, “There is no plan to hold a March or raise slogans.”

However, Jharkhand police has issued alert to all districts on the 26th anniversary of Babri Mosque demolition. SPs and DIGs have been asked to keep a strong vigil on elements likely to disturb communal harmony and maintain law and order in their districts.

IG (Operations) and State Police Spokesperson Ashish Batra said that since December 6 is considered a sensitive day instructions have already been passed to keep a strong  vigil on disturbing elements, who may harm communal harmony. “The Centre has also sounded an alert, we have also issued an alert and the State police machinery is ready to thwart any attempt to disrupt law and order,” he said.
