To commemorate the soldiers’ valiant deeds and supreme sacrifices who attained martyrdom while on duty, the BSF will organise a mini marathon ‘Run for Martyrs’ on December 2 at Jeypore.
DIG A Srinivas disclosed this at a Press meet here. He told the event will comprise a 10- km long mini marathon and 5-km fun-run to be flagged off on December 2 from Vikram Dev College stadium. The participants will be people from various departments, schools, colleges, universities, professional institutions and local people.
Srinivas said attractive prizes for the winners and certificates for all the participants have been arranged.
“The BSF, as India’s first line of defence, has been guarding Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangladesh borders as well as discharging internal security duties and anti-Naxal duties under dynamic operational situations,” said Srinivas. Among others, Deepak Kandpal, Vikram Sharma and Bhupendra Pratap were present.
