A local Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader and businessman Anil Jaitley has been arrested on Wednesday morning by Jwalapur police in connection with a cheque bouncing case. A few months earlier, the Income tax officials had raided his house.
Jaitley takes building contracts. He is also involved in repairing roads and bridges. On Wednesday morning, the local police arrested him from his residence in Jwalapur. There was a case of cheque bouncing against him, said the police.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Jwalapur police station in-charge Amarjeet Singh said, “Anil Jaitley, resident of Vasant Vihar, Jwalapur has been arrested in connection with a cheque bouncing case. Dehradun police have taken him into custody with the help of local police. The arrest followed the warrant issued against him by court.”
