Sessions of career counselling were held at the Government Degree College, Jaihrikhal and IHMS, Kotdwar in Pauri district on Friday. These sessions were held under the aegis of ‘Buland Uttrakhand’ campaign spearheaded by Shaurya Doval, son of National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. The organisers claimed that more than 100 students participated in both the sessions.
The session focused on various career options available after graduation in local areas as well as outside. The students were given tips on importance of choosing the right career.
Speaking about the need of such career counselling campaigns, Doval said, “Students do not get good counsellors and this is why their awareness is low.
It leads them to go astray. It is our endeavour to link every child to the best of his career potential so that he or she can earn well and have a sustainable career.”
In IHMS Kotdwar, the session focused on career options in the field of IT and applied IT, hospitality and process of setting up a start up.
