Cattle businessman killed at Pirtard area in Giridih district

A cattle trader was killed by unidentified persons at Pirtard area within limits of same police station in Giridih district here on Monday, SDPO, Niraj Kumar  today said.

The victim identified as Rameshwar Miya (55), was in cattle business and his body was found with his throat slit in a naxal- affected area near Visunpur-Khetadabour road under the  Pirtard police station limit, the SDPO said.

Superintendent of Police Surendra Kumar Jha confirmed the incident, stating that as the place of occurrence was a naxal-affected, the police team reached the spot and recovered the body of Rameshwar Miya,who belonged to Jogabad village in Giridih. Rameshwar Miya was last seen yesterday afternoon at a hotel in Harladih area. Recently he had taken a loan of Rs 50,000. While "Dalal"is written on his baniyan with blue ink, SDPO, Niraj Kumar said the reason behind the killing as well as the identity of the killers would be known only after the police team reached the spot to investigate.Meanwhile, the villagers have put up road blockade demanding adequate compensation to the victim's family.
