The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the affiliation of GRD World School Bhauwala Dehradun. The school attained notoriety recently when gang rape of a class X student by the senior students of the same school was reported.
In an order, the joint secretary of CBSE Delhi has said that the application for extension of provisional affiliation for secondary and senior secondary classes of the school has been rejected on the basis of the report submitted by the State Government.
After the allegation of gang rape lodged by a minor girl and subsequent police action against the alleged rapists and some members of management, the education department had sent its team for inspection of the school. The team had found glaring security lapses in the school and recommended cancellation of the affiliation to the CBSE.
