Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer Subrat Sahoo presided over a review meeting on Tuesday through video-conferencing for preparation of the second phase of polling scheduled on November 20 for remaining 72 Assembly constituencies.
The first phase of polling was held on November 12 for 18 Assembly constituencies.
Subrat Sahoo sought details of ground level preparations undertaken by the District Electoral Officers for 72 assembly constituencies and issued directives with necessary updates.
With minor and major technical reasons cropping up in the EVMs, VVPAT machines and Control Unit (CU) during the first phase of polling, CEO Sahoo directed the DEOs and Returning Officers to ensure that polling teams reach polling centres on time and there should be no mal-functioning of EVMs.
Additional CEO Dr S Bharatidasan, joint CEO Padmini Bhoi Sahu and Dr K K R Singh along with other officials were present in the meeting.
