The Office of Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) will be holding a meeting of all the 27 district collectors on Thursday here in view of the counting of votes for 90 assembly constituencies scheduled on December 11 from 8.00 am.
The counting is to be held at all district headquarters.
Amid the mounting pressure from the political parties over the suspicion of tampering of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) in the state, the meeting is considered to be crucial for all the District Electoral Officers and also Returning Officers of assembly constituencies. They will be assisted by Assistant Returning Officers in the counting of votes.
Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer Subrat Sahoo will chair the meeting with all other officers of his office.
As per information received, the District Electoral Officers will also be imparted training on the vote counting process which includes the rules and regulations to be followed, steps to be taken in case of any emergency during counting and other aspects.
