Chemist shops likely to be closed on Sept 28

Thursday, 13 September 2018 | PNS | Dehradun

On the nationwide shutdown call given by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggist (AIOCD)-the association of the chemists and the distributors-the chemist shops in Uttarakhand are likely to remain closed on September 28. The association has been at the loggerheads with the Government on the issue of online sales of medicines.

The president AIOCD J S Shinde said that all efforts of the association to sensitise people and the Government on the hazards involving the online trade of drugs have been made. β€œIt is clear that the online players rampantly violate provisions of the drug Act and no action has been taken by authorities. If the Government fails to understand the situation and does not consider our appeal AIOCD would be left with no other option but to go for nationwide indefinite agitation against the online sale of medicine,’’ he said.
