Jharkhand Disom Party (JDP) has played a master stroke of Adivasi card here before the onset of 2019 twin elections due in Jharkhand, the general election of Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha.

In a press release issued by JDP national president Salkhan Murmu, the JDP has maintained if  NDA government at the centre under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narender Modi concedes the demand of Adivasi Sengal Andolan  (ASA) and JDP for recognition of Sarna Dharam and recognizing it creates a column and code in the Census of population then the whole Adivasi community in the country will laud the effort of PM Modi, which NDA  will cherish most politically.

Murmu  has maintained in his press release that ASA and JDP have been batting for recognition of Sarna Dharam since long and have written missives to the PM also to give its  due recognition in Census.

A partial Bharat Bandh was also observed in 5 states Jharkhand, Odisha, Bengal, Bihar & Assam in the first half of this year to press for this long pending demand.

Sources said if Murmu has raised the banner of Sarna Dharam which is a very touchy and sensitive card then Murmu in the same vein has been most critical of JMM doyen Shibu Soren.

Murmu in his press release reiterated senior Soren has no concern for either the mines of Jharkhand or for the people of Jharkhand as Murmu maintained had there been any concern on the part of senior Soren then JMM would have made two steps forward and invited parties like JVM and AJSU to form a Jharkhandi alliance to take on the NDA but senior Soren did nothing of this sort. Murmu said JMM is a party which loves only the power and not the people. It does not behove this party to speak for Jharkhand as this party is a believer in its own aggrandizement.

JDP chief further said  if one believes NDA gets defeated and UPA comes into power even then Commands will be given from Delhi for this state as it had happened 4 times in this state when father son duo were in power and when Madhu Koda was at the helm of affairs here in Jharkhand for one term.

Murmu said such a Delhi control of this state will defeat all the purposes of Jharkhand’s coming into existence.
