CM: Dev gathering pace in Rae Bareli, Amethi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed that his government had given special treatment to Rae Bareli and Amethi which had been ignored by the previous Congress governments even when both these constituencies were represented by the party’s two top leaders.

“Development in Rae Bareli and Amethi, which was lagging during the UPA government, gathered pace only after the BJP government came to power at the Centre in 2014,” the Chief Minister said.

Addressing a gathering at the Modern Rail Coach Factory (MRCF) ground at Lalganj in Rae Bareli on Sunday, Yogi Adityanath said that due to the effort of the Centre and the state government, the OPD of the proposed AIIMS had started working in Rae Bareli.

Announcing that all the villages in Rae Bareli had been electrified while in Amethi all villages would be electrified by next fortnight, the Chief Minister said in Rae Bareli, 1,547 villages and its 7,013 hamlets were electrified out of which 34 hamlets were given electricity through solar power.

Similarly in Amethi, 5,349 hamlets of 934 villages would be electrified out of which 110 hamlet would get solar power, he added.

The Chief Minister said that all the consumers in villages had been given free electricity connections under Saubhagya scheme.

Yogi said 3,11,858 toilets had been constructed in Rae Bareli and 2,12,974 in Amethi under Swachh Bharat Mission while under PM Awas Yojana (Rural)  23,430 housing units were made in Rae Bareli and 12,612 in Amethi. “In all, 8,85,000 houses were made under the PM Awas Yojana in UP,” he said.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced that the doubling of rail tracks on Lucknow-Rae Bareli and Rae Bareli-Amethi sections would be completed by December 2019.

He said that 30 km of Lucknow-Utraitia section had already been constructed between Lucknow and Rae Bareli and the rest 36 kms up to Rae Bareli would be completed by December, 2019.

Similarly, he said, Rae Bareli-Jais section (31 km) would be constructed by March, 2019 and the rest up to Amethi (28 km) by December, 2019.
