CM asks private hospitals to partner in Ayushman Bharat

Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday held discussions with the representatives of private hospitals like Tata Main Hospital to discuss the possibility of treatment facilities available under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana.

The Chief Minister apprised the hospital management that there are several patients who come every day for treatment but are not employed in Tata Steel or its subsidiaries. Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that funding for infrastructure will also be done by the government.

About 50 per cent non-employees are still being admitted at hospitals under the scheme their money will be paid by the Government. The Chief Minister said that the pain of the disease is unbearable for the families suffering from poverty. “To get rid of diseases, the poor tend to keep mortgages. Considering this pain, the Prime Minister of India has initiated this big health insurance scheme of health sector, so that no one should consider themselves helpless at the time of illness. It is also expected that all the private hospitals should also support the best treatment facilities,” said the CM.

The Chief Minister said that in order to redress the problems of private hospitals in relation to the Jan Swasthya Yojana, a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Health Secretary at the state level. If any kind of problem arises after being nominated and treatment starts, then its solution will be provided.

The delegates assured the Chief Minister that they would prepare a proposal and would soon go to Ranchi and work towards becoming partner in the scheme. 

The Chief Minister said that Arogya Mitra (‘Health Friend’) will work as a Medical Coordinator. The patient will be taken to see if proper treatment of the disease is available in the concerned hostal or not, and the proper availability of the bed etc. Otherwise it will be referred for elsewhere. Health friend has also been trained for this.

In order to improve the condition of Jamshedpur in the hygiene ranking, the Chief Minister gave instructions. The Chief Minister said that Jamshedpur has high quality roads and a global level infrastructure. “We need to prioritise cleaning to bring the city to the top 10 clean cities in the country. For this, cleanliness system should be further strengthened by making manpower more trained,” said the CM.

In order to make the city's law and order more stringent, the Chief Minister instructed to install 70 CCTV cameras under MLA funds. The Chief Minister also gave directions for providing cyber crime status, cyber police station, JNAC cleanliness system, providing advanced walkie talkie handsets to policemen stationed in all the main rounds of the city.

Tata Steel CEO and MD TV Narendran, Tata Steelm Vice President - Corporate Affairs Sunil Bhaskaran, Tata Motors' AB Lal and TMH Hospital GM Dr Rajan Chaudhari were also present in the meeting.
