Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday while reviewing the work being undertaken by companies in the field of electrification in various parts of the State directed their concerned officials to accelerate. He was particular against the companies running behind their target or showing no sign of improvement since the last review done.

The Chief Minister said that by December 2018, the task to provide electricity to every household of the State was to be completed which required much pace. He particularly expressed displeasure over the sluggish progress made by Polycab Wires working in Ranchi for underground cabling.

The Chief Minister referring to the hardship being faced by the residents of Ranchi due to disruptions in power supply due to the cabling work told the officials present in the meeting to get the job done as soon as possible.

Officials of the company assured the Chief Minister that work in three out of six divisions of Ranchi would be completed by October this year and also about bringing power supply to normal in Ranchi ahead of Diwali by November. The Chief Minister also told the officials of Pace Power to improve their work.

He said that in the districts where the work has either completed or is about to complete, manpower existed should be shifted out from there and placed where more hands are required so that the task is completed on time. “You should ensure completing the work of power supply in at least five districts by October. Turn the line on in the towns where underground cabling work has been completed,” said the CM.

The meeting was also attended by Secretary of Department of Energy Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Baranwal, Managing Director of JBVNL Rahul Purvar and other senior officials of the Department.
